WorldGBC's Asia Pacific Leadership in Green Building Awards 2022

The Asia Pacific Leadership in Green Building Awards has been showcasing leadership in people, business and projects behind the sustainable building movement across Asia since 2014.This year, the awards will be celebrated during a pivotal event in World Green Building Council's (WorldGBC)calendar The Asia Pacific 2022 Festival which coincides with our 20th Anniversary.

Led by the WorldGBC Asia Pacific Network, together with 15 Green Building Councils across the region, the awards contain three categories : celebrating the inspiring business leaders by example, iconic buildings showcasing the best in green design and inspiring female leadership across the region. All of these align with WorldGBC's latest strategic impact areas and our Beyond the Business Case Report , helping to create a more purposeful and empowering sustainable environment in the Asia Pacific region.

Green building has reached a new horizon in the region, thanks to the industry's vision and innovation. To reflect this evolution, the 2022 Awards will focus on alignment with WorldGBC's three impact areas: Climate Action - Advancing Net Zero, Health & Wellbeing and Resource & Circularity.

The earlier four editions of APN awards held in 2014, 2016, 2018 & 2020 were a huge success and received tremendous support from organisations, projects and individuals across the Asia Pacific region.

The nominations for the APN Awards 2022 are now open! To participate, download the nomination forms here.

A green building is one which uses less water, optimizes energy efficiency, conserves natural resources, generates less waste and provides healthier spaces for occupants, as compared to a conventional building. Considering the tremendous benefits that it offers, green building concept is gaining major importance in India.

Indian Green Building Council's (IGBC) rating systems launched since 2007 had made rapid strides in the Green Building sector. IGBC Green League 2024

To achieve IGBC vision and to propagate the green building concepts, CII's IGBC had launched a unique Learn & Win concept titled 'IGBC Green League (IGL) - Learning & Growing Together' in 2016 which went bigger and greater for 6 consecutive years with tremendous success, response and value to the Indian Construction Industry.

Keeping this revering success of IGL in view, CII's IGBC is organizing the 9th Edition of IGBC Green League (IGL) – Reform, Perform & Transform

The Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) with all members and stakeholders immense support and encouragement has received an overwhelming response to the success of the IGBC Green League (IGL) over the past eight editions. What began in one city in 2016 has now gained national momentum, with over 2,800 professionals attending the training and over 2,000 IGBC Accredited Professionals (IGBC AP) actively contributing to the vision of a ‘Sustainable Built Environment for All.’

As the focus transitions from Green Buildings to Net Zero Buildings & Built Spaces, the demand for Green & Net Zero Building Professionals has significantly increased. Today, India boasts 11.62 billion sq. ft. of registered green footprints with over 13,500 projects pursuing green and net zero goals. The potential to further enhance these numbers is immense, and IGBC, with its over two decades of service to the nation, aspires to contribute even more. This necessitates the development of qualified professionals who are well-equipped to support the growing number of green building projects across the country. Many State & Central Government Departments are incentivizing Green Buildings, highlighting the need for more Accredited Professionals to ensure accountability and transparency in practices.

To meet these future demands and continue serving the sustainable built environment of the country, CII IGBC is pleased to announce the ‘9th Edition of IGBC Green League (IGL) – Reform, Perform & Transform.’ This year, IGL is scheduled in two phases. Phase II of IGL 2024 is scheduled between 6 – 10 August 2024 over a virtual platform.
